Repressions against journalists

After the presidential elections in December, 2010 Belarusian authorities started a wave of repressions against oppositional activists, human rights defenders and journalists.

The most outraging cases include imprisonment of several journalists, their harassment by the KGB, constant searches, and surveillance. More here from Article 19, here from RSF and here from BAJ.

Impunity: there are some unsolved cases relating to journalism – abducted cameraman in 2000, suspicious death in 2005, murdered investigative journalist in 2006, and suspicious suicide in 2010.
